Tous is a Catalan jewelry house turned lifestyle brand, founded in 1920 in Manresa as a small watch-repair workshop run by Salvador Tous Blavi and his wife Teresa Ponsa Mas. Their son Salvador Tous Mas and his wife Rosa Oriol turned the workshop into a jewelry company, and in 1985 introduced the cartoonish bear that has been the brand's signature ever since. Fragrance was added in 2002 through a licensing partnership with the Spanish manufacturer Perfumes y Diseños, and has grown into a sizeable catalog spanning women's, men's and children's lines. The compositions tend toward bright, easy-wearing florals, fruity gourmands and clean musks, presented in flacons frequently capped with the bear motif. The house remains family-controlled and headquartered in Catalonia, with retail across Spain, Mexico, the United States and a number of European and Asian markets.
