TSVGA Parfums
Handmade indie perfumery from western Massachusetts.
TSVGA Parfums is an American indie perfumery founded in 2020 by James Barry in Easthampton, a small city in western Massachusetts. Barry came to fragrance-making after careers in visual art, writing, and music, as well as practice as a psychotherapist — and a period as a YouTube perfume reviewer under the name Mr. Niche Guy. Drawing on those diverse creative channels, he hand-crafted small-batch, gender-free fragrances using high-quality natural raw materials, insisting on transparency about ingredients and process. The brand championed individuality and resisted social norms around who should wear which scent. TSVGA built a devoted following among artisanal-fragrance collectors who valued its close attention to material quality and its founder's honest, enthusiast-first voice. The house operated until August 2024, when Barry closed it to pursue other creative directions, leaving a compact but distinctive legacy in American indie perfumery.
