Victorinox Swiss Army
Swiss Army utility, in scent.
Victorinox traces back to 1884, when Karl Elsener founded a cutlery workshop in Ibach in the Swiss canton of Schwyz; the company name later combined his mother Victoria's first name with the steel designation Inox. Today it remains family-controlled and best known globally for the original Swiss Army Knife, alongside watches, travel gear, professional knives, and household tools. The fragrance line entered the picture in 1997 with the launch of Swiss Army for Men, an aromatic fougere that found a notable audience in North America during the late nineties. Victorinox Swiss Army Fragrance AG has since extended the line into men's, women's, and unisex compositions, with marketing leaning heavily on the brand's outdoorsman, alpine, and utilitarian imagery. Distribution sits in the accessible mid-tier of the fragrance market, with strong presence in airport, department-store, and discount retail.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
