Wild Veil Perfume
Grower-perfumery from six acres of Vermont forest.
Wild Veil Perfume was founded in 2013 by Abby Hinsman, a self-taught perfumer who operates from six acres of woodland in Vermont where she grows and wildcrafts many of her raw materials. The house represents genuine grower-perfumery: Hinsman controls the supply chain from botanical cultivation through to finished perfume, which allows her to use fresh plant material and uncommon extracts that are unavailable through commercial fragrance ingredient suppliers. Compositions draw from the Vermont landscape — conifer forests, mushroom undergrowth, meadow flowers, bark — filtered through a naturalistic but structured aesthetic that prioritises authenticity over prettiness. Wild Veil sells direct to consumers through its website and participates in the American indie perfume community, where Hinsman is respected for her horticultural knowledge as much as her compositional skill. The house offers a rare experience of true place-based perfumery in the American context.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
