Yves Rocher
Créateur de la cosmétique végétale
Yves Rocher founded his cosmetics company in 1959 in La Gacilly, a small village in Brittany, with the intention of bringing botanical beauty products directly to consumers by mail order. The decision to grow and process plants on his own estate — now a substantial botanical garden and research center — established an authenticity claim the brand has maintained for over six decades. Mail order evolved into retail and digital channels, but the botanical heritage remains the primary brand narrative. Fragrance occupies a secondary position within a portfolio dominated by skincare and color cosmetics, but the catalog is substantial: fresh florals, citrus soliflores, and lighter orientals that complement the house's green botanical identity. Prices sit in the accessible range, consistent with the brand's democratic founding intent. Groupe Rocher, the family-owned parent company, also holds Petit Bateau, Dr. Pierre Ricaud, and other lifestyle brands.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
