By the editors · 2 min readThe 1990 Active Bodies, in its standard EDT form, is the brand's first real masculine — and listening to it now feels like a small history lesson. Lavender and lemon open in a clear, dry register; the heart turns to sandalwood and cedar with freesia and rose softening the woods into something almost groomed.
The base is unrepentantly old-school: oakmoss, labdanum, amber, styrax, musk, tonka. It is a fougère by the textbook, more locker-room-after-shower than gym-during. It still works; it just doesn't sound like 2014's sport launches. Cooler weather suits it better — the moss and labdanum can read heavy in heat.
