By the editors · 2 min readBergamot opens with clean citrus brightness, but it is brief — incense moves in quickly, giving the composition a resinous, slightly smoky character from early on. Lavender sits just below the surface, softening the smoke without turning herbal.
Patchouli adds an earthy depth to the heart, while clove brings a quiet, warm bite. Labdanum and tonka bean take over in the base, building a dense, balsamic warmth. Cedar and vetiver lend dry, woody structure to prevent the base from going entirely sweet.
The overall effect is a dark, amber-forward oriental with good backbone. It settles into something resinous and close-wearing on skin.
