The scent fingerprint
Weighted by intensity across 10 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readThe opening is bitter and green: grapefruit and juniper berry over galbanum, which is responsible for the slightly resinous, sap-like edge cutting through the citrus. It reads more aromatic than fresh — the galbanum is unusual for a 2011 designer flanker and gives the first ten minutes a grown-up, slightly old-school feel.
The heart settles quickly into tonka and vetiver, a classic warm-cool pairing that does most of the fragrance's work. Vetiver keeps the tonka from going syrupy; tonka keeps the vetiver from going earthy. The base is a quiet musk that lets the wood-and-bean accord stay legible. Moderate longevity, intimate sillage. Office-friendly without being apologetic, and the galbanum opening gives it more personality than the duo-format suggests.
