By the editors · 2 min readThe opening pairs red apple with grapefruit and a ghost of passion-flower, which gives the first impression a tart-fruit lift rather than a candied one. The apple stays on the crisp side — closer to a bite than a compote — and the grapefruit's bitterness keeps the fruit accord from going pink and saccharine.
The heart is the unexpected move: patchouli and orchid, which is closer to a chypre-fruity structure than a typical 2011 designer pink-floral. The patchouli is dosed light, more dry-earth than headshop, and the orchid reads as smooth-floral filler. Musk closes the composition with a clean, slightly powdery hum. Moderate longevity, intimate sillage. A daytime-into-evening piece with enough patchouli to feel adult.
