By the editors · 2 min readBlack Amethyst opens with a bright citrus-melon flash that quickly gives way to its centerpiece: a dense bouquet of white flowers. The gardenia and tuberose dominate, rich and almost indolic, softened slightly by sweeter lily of the valley and peony. It's the kind of floral that announces itself rather than whispers.

As it settles, sandalwood and vanilla round out the sharpness, while patchouli and vetiver add a grounding earthiness that keeps the composition from floating away entirely. The musk provides a pillowy finish that holds everything together through the drydown.

This is unapologetically bold white floral territory—full-bodied and warm, reminiscent of department store florals from the late 2000s. It suits someone who wants presence without excessive sweetness, though it leans more accessible than niche. Best in cooler months when its richness can breathe without overwhelming.
