By the editors · 2 min readBergamot and orange slice through cool air with a bitter-green edge, immediately announcing the chypre structure. Peach lands next, its fuzzy skin lending a soft, slightly candied fruitiness that blunts the citrus brightness while nutmeg adds a dry, peppery warmth that keeps the heart from turning overtly sweet. In the base, tonka bean pours a marzipan creaminess over oakmoss’s earthy dampness, benzoin supplies a resinous, honeyed glow, and cedar provides quiet, pencil-shaving wood to anchor the accord. Over hours the peach recedes, letting the moss and benzoin dominate, creating a cool, softly powdered forest-floor effect that stays surprisingly luminous. Projection sits at arm’s length for most of the wearing, making it office-friendly yet present. Cool autumn days and early spring evenings suit its temperate glow best, especially under a wool coat where the moss can bloom.
