By the editors · 2 min readNeroli, cardamom and bergamot open with a bright bitter-sweet citrus-spice chord, the neroli adding a creamy floral lift that softens the cardamom's coolness. The opening reads sophisticated and aromatic from the first breath.
Myrrh, cedar and clove warm the heart significantly. Myrrh contributes a smoky balsamic depth, clove a hot spice, cedar a dry pencil-shaving woodiness. The transition from bright top to dark resinous middle is dramatic.
The base completes the picture. Ambergris adds a salty mineral animalic warmth, styrax a sticky resinous balsam. Overall the character is a dense, almost monastic resinous oriental with a brief citrus prelude. Projection is strong in the first hours and softens to a long warm balsamic drydown close to skin.
