There's an immediate density to it—resinous and slightly medicinal from the myrrh, but grounded by suede-like textures that keep it from floating into abstraction. The sage adds an herbal bitterness that cuts through what could otherwise turn syrupy.
As it settles, the patchouli and labdanum combination creates a dark, sticky sweetness reminiscent of aged incense or leather left in a wooden drawer. The amber never quite softens into comfort; it maintains a certain intensity throughout, living up to the name.
