By the editors · 2 min readClarins Par Amour opens with pink pepper and black currant — a warm, spiced-fruity combination where the pepper's bite and the currant's tart sweetness create an energetic opening. The contrast between the two is the composition's most interesting moment.

Vanilla and cardamom form the heart: a warm, spiced-sweet accord that transitions the fruity opening into a genuinely oriental register. The cardamom adds aromatic complexity to the vanilla without pushing it into gourmand territory. The base of sandalwood, labdanum, benzoin, and amber closes on a warm, resinous dry-down with good staying power — labdanum adding a cistus note, benzoin providing warmth. Compact and well-resolved.
