By the editors · 2 min readThe opening is a crowded English garden of citrus and aromatics — pineapple and peach throw a fruit-skin sweetness over a thick herbal layer of lavender, rosemary, clary sage, galbanum and petitgrain. It is busy in the manner of luxury chypres of its era and works because each piece is loud enough to register.
The heart narrows to jasmine and freesia held inside the lingering aromatics, briefly soft before the resins take over. It moves cleanly from green-and-bright to warm without a transitional gap.
The dry-down is the point: frankincense, labdanum, amber, cedar, patchouli and musk fold into a rounded, faintly sweet, wood-and-resin base that projects strongly for hours. Cool weather, evenings, and occasions that warrant being noticed suit it; it is not subtle.
