By the editors · 2 min readThe composition is short on overture and long on resolution. Pepper takes the lead — black and pink together — with nutmeg adding warmth and orris a cool, rooty edge. The first impression is dry, peppery and faintly powdery rather than citrus-bright.
As the spice loosens, the orris stretches into a quiet floral-powder bridge, never quite stepping forward, before yielding to the base.
The dry-down is the body of the perfume: amberwood, cedar, vetiver and olibanum knit a smooth, slightly resinous wood structure, with vanilla rounding the edges. It projects steadily without being loud and wears comfortably across cool-weather days and into evening — versatile for office through dinner without changing register much.
