By the editors · 2 min readBergamot and neroli open cleanly, with a brightness that doesn't last long before the floral heart steps in. Jasmine, ylang-ylang, rose, and orris overlap in a dense arrangement — rich without being oversweet, with the orris lending a powdery, slightly rooty undertone that holds the florals in check.
The base is the most distinctive part. Leather and ambergris give a dry, animalic depth, and vetiver adds an earthy edge. Benzoin and patchouli push warmth underneath without becoming overtly sweet. The overall texture is structured and grown-up, more dry than plush.
This belongs to a tradition of substantive floral-leather compositions that age well on skin in cooler conditions.
