By the editors · 2 min readBlack pepper and grapefruit open dry and biting, the pepper sharper than the citrus and giving the entry a more aromatic than juicy character. The opening reads woody-spicy from the start.
Lavender and nutmeg form a brief aromatic heart, the nutmeg warming the lavender into something denser and more masculine than the usual fougere middle. There is no real floral or sweet phase to interrupt.
Moss, vetiver, cedar and musk close the base in a classic green-earthy chypre-fougere chord, vetiver supplying smoky root and the moss its damp shadow. The overall character is a dry, earthy aromatic fougere with a peppery edge, suited to outdoor and casual cool-weather wear.
