By the editors · 2 min readEau Duelle is one of Diptyque's more quietly compelling entries — built around vanilla without ever becoming a gourmand. Saffron gives the opening an earthy-honeyed warmth, cardamom adds dry spice, and pink pepper a lighter aromatic heat that keeps the composition from settling prematurely. The vanilla at the center isn't sweet or bakery-like; it reads more resinous, suggesting the dry vanilla pod rather than the extract, with a slightly smoky quality that brings it close to incense territory. Musk in the close holds everything together at skin level. Diptyque at its most accessible without sacrificing the house's understated sensibility.
