By the editors · 2 min readLa Roue de la Fortune opens with a bright clash of pineapple and pink pepper—tropical sweetness meets peppery warmth in a way that feels both indulgent and slightly unpredictable. The fruit never turns candied; instead, it softens quickly into a lush white floral heart where gardenia and tuberose take center stage, creamy and full-bodied, with jasmine adding a touch of transparency.

The base brings unexpected restraint. Benzoin and patchouli wrap the florals in a resinous, earthy embrace, while iris introduces a powdery, almost cool elegance that tempers the richness. The result is a floral that manages to be both opulent and wearable, never suffocating.

This is best suited to someone who wants white florals without the usual sweetness, who appreciates a composition that balances extravagance with a certain earthy sophistication. The pineapple might seem unusual on paper, but it works as a bright accent rather than a dominant theme.
