By the editors · 2 min readThe 1993 Arpège reformulates the 1927 original — a dense, aldehydic floral oriental with a structure intact at every tier. Neroli, peach, lily of the valley, and bergamot open soft and bright, with the aldehydic shimmer that signals the lineage immediately.
The heart is large: jasmine, lily, ylang-ylang, lily of the valley, iris, and rose, layered and indolic in places. The bouquet projects with poise rather than aggression. The drydown carries sandalwood, vetiver, benzoin, amber, vanilla, patchouli, and musk — a balsamic, faintly powdery base that holds for hours.
This is the formal end of the Lanvin wardrobe. It rewards a fall or winter occasion and a wearer who wants vintage architecture.
