By the editors · 2 min readVelvet Tender Oud sits at the soft end of the oud spectrum — there is no medicinal barnyard here, no smoke, no shock. Sweet almond opens the composition with a gourmand whisper, immediately handing off to a generous double rose: damask and rose de Mai, jammy and honeyed.
The oud arrives mannered and Western, treated as a woody accord rather than a raw resin, supported by a clean abstract woody base. It is the Velvet Collection's interpretation of Middle Eastern rose-oud: legible to noses raised on European florals, polished where the original is smoldering.
Suited to cool evenings and indoor settings; longevity is solid, projection moderate. A rose for those who find pure rose too thin.
