By the editors · 2 min readBlack Cashmere is a serious dark oriental and one of the underrated masterpieces of the early 2000s. Olibanum, saffron, and nutmeg open with a dry, resinous, spiced intensity — saffron metallic and warm, nutmeg adding a slightly medicinal spice, olibanum a sacred quality. Rose in the heart is solitary and complete: not a floral-arrangement rose but a single stem, slightly smoky, held by the incense atmosphere around it. The base returns to olibanum, adding amber, vanilla, and patchouli — the patchouli earthy but subordinate, vanilla warming without sweetening. Dense, nocturnal, built for the kind of evening where you want to be memorable.
