By the editors · 2 min readPetitgrain slices through the opening with a bitter-green flash that dries the citrus oils into crisp shards. The tart orange and lemon peel fold quickly into Bulgarian rose whose spiced petals bridge to a heart of jasmine indoles. That floral tandem melts onto Mysore sandalwood already radiating buttery cream, letting the ambergris weave briny lift through the resinous base. Frankincense and benzoin smoulder slowly, releasing transparent smoke trails that the vanilla rounds without ever turning sweet, while leather stays low, a tanned hide brushed with musk. On skin it darkens over six hours, sandal-ambergris becoming the dominant accord, projecting an arm’s length halo for three before settling as a leather, perfect for cool autumn nights or a formal dinner.
