The Night
The opening is direct and uncluttered — saffron alone, leathery and slightly medicinal in that recognisable spice-meets-rubber way, setting up a serious, almost ceremonial atmosphere from the first breath.

Weighted by intensity across 10 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

Oud follows in the centre with conviction — not quite barnyard, but certainly far from the polished oud-lite that became common; there is a damp, smoky depth here that pushes against the saffron in a balanced tug. The composition reads as a focused two-element study rather than a layered narrative.
Sandalwood and frankincense close the perfume in dry resinous warmth, the frankincense lending pale smoke and the sandalwood a creamy floor. Overall the perfume reads austere and quietly opulent, leaning hard into oud's smoky-leathered character with restraint.
