By the editors · 2 min readI Am opens with a double-pepper accord — black pepper's drier bite and pink pepper's brighter, slightly fruity pop — alongside raspberry and bergamot, creating a dark-fruit opening with an edge of spice. The floral heart layers magnolia's creamy-green quality with jasmine depth and the powdery softness of violet and rose, neither purely sweet nor sharp.

The base is warm and substantial: sandalwood and benzoin give a smooth resinous body, amber and vanilla deepen it, vetiver adds an earthy counterpoint that prevents the base from becoming syrupy. The composition reads as confident and unisex — a modern oriental that's neither restrained nor excessive.
