By the editors · 2 min readThe opening announces itself through a haze of resinous incense softened by pink pepper's fruity bite, with bergamot providing just enough citrus to keep the smoke from becoming oppressive. It's ceremonial but not solemn—there's a playful warmth threading through the incense clouds that hints at the sweetness to come.
As it settles, powdery orris and suede create an elegant, almost tactile middle ground, while rose adds a muted floral presence that never dominates. The suede note gives the impression of soft leather rather than sharp tannins, creating intimacy without aggression.
The drydown reveals where soul-of-my-soul earns its name: Madagascar vanilla and tonka bean wrap around benzoin's balsamic sweetness, grounded by clean musk. It's unabashedly comforting, the kind of skin-scent cocoon that feels like being recognized by someone who knows you completely. Despite its warmth, it maintains the incense's contemplative quality throughout, never tipping into pure gourmand territory.
