By the editors · 2 min readThe original Habanita formula in its older, more unstable shape. The opening is fruit-floral — raspberry and peach with orange blossom and bergamot — and the fruits read jammy rather than fresh, more compote than orchard.
The heart is a heavy white-floral-and-iris bouquet: jasmine, ylang-ylang, heliotrope, iris, and rose, layered until the individual flowers blur into a single powdered cloud. The base is short but loud — benzoin, vanilla, and musk, the benzoin pulling everything toward a warm balsamic resin.
A pre-war composition that wears as such. Cool weather, evening, anyone who wants a fragrance with the texture of velvet rather than air.
