Neroli and bergamot open clean and slightly bitter-citrus, the sort of opening that telegraphs sun-warmed stone and cool water. Rosemary in the heart holds it dry and herbal, doing the work that the original's various aromatics do — keeping it from sliding too sweet.
The base softens slightly compared to the original: amber adds a touch of warmth where you'd expect more woody starkness, and patchouli grounds it with a darker pull. The result is the familiar Acqua di Giò profile rendered slightly warmer and more stretched-out, still day-coded but with longer shadow.
