Armani Privé Oud Royal

Oud Royal opens with the warm, metallic spice of saffron landing on a fully developed rose heart — the pairing is brief and confident, the classic accord that defines a certain tradition of Middle Eastern-influenced perfumery.

By the editors · 2 min readOud Royal opens with the warm, metallic spice of saffron landing on a fully developed rose heart — the pairing is brief and confident, the classic accord that defines a certain tradition of Middle Eastern-influenced perfumery. Despite its name, the fragrance's listed notes don't include oud; what takes its place is a deeply resinous base of myrrh, frankincense, and amber over sandalwood, creating a smoky, opulent foundation.

The result is a close-wearing, meditative fragrance — incense-rich, rose-centred, designed to be worn as a second skin rather than projected into a room. It shares the language of Arabic perfumery without requiring the oud note to make the point.
