By the editors · 2 min readA wisp of smoke curls through the opening—star anise and citrus suspended in something faintly charred, like incense just extinguished. The effect is immediate and quietly arresting, neither bright nor heavy, but somewhere in between where contemplation lives. As it settles, sandalwood emerges with a creamy woodiness, tempered by jasmine that reads more pale than floral, more texture than sweetness.

The composition never quite resolves into warmth or coolness, maintaining instead a poised ambiguity. Patchouli grounds the base without turning earthy or sweet, while that persistent hint of smoke weaves through every stage, giving the whole thing an introspective quality. It feels like a fragrance for someone comfortable with understatement—elegant but not formal, woody but not overtly masculine, present without announcing itself.
