By the editors · 2 min readCedar and lemon open dry, the wood shaving tang cutting the citrus oil to a brisk, slightly smoky edge. Vetiver and patchouli arrive early, their earthy bitterness pulling the woods downward while jasmine adds a brief, clean floral lift before iris powders the heart with cool, rooty starch. The base folds in tonka, vanilla and opoponax, creating a warm, almond-sweet amber that cushions the sharper woods; incense-streaked smoke and a trace of civet fur ride underneath, keeping the sweetness from flattening. After two hours the leather darkens, sandalwood softens the seams, and the accord settles into a resinous, gently animalic skin haze that smells like old lacquered boxes opened in sunlight. Projection stays within arm’s length for most of the wear, best suited to cool evenings or formal winter days when a muted, nostalgic presence is welcome.
