By the editors · 2 min readBlack pepper and bergamot open sharp and bright — pepper's dry prickle against bergamot's polished citrus. The opening is short but sets a slightly aggressive, masculine-coded tone.
Orris adds a cool, powdered suede at the heart, while jasmine softens the structure with a creamy floral lift and tobacco threads a dry, hay-like warmth between them. The contrast of powdered iris with smoky tobacco is the most interesting phase, an unexpected pairing in a designer-level composition. Sandalwood, leather, amber, cedar, musk, and praline settle the drydown into a rich, leathery-sweet base — the praline adding a faint candied nuttiness, the leather staying smooth rather than animalic. The character is a tobacco-leather modern oriental with a powdered floral spine and quiet projection.
