By the editors · 2 min readThe original Boss Bottled gets stripped of its easy apple-and-cedar formula and replaced with something denser and more deliberate. Elixir opens on frankincense — dry and slightly medicinal rather than churchy — with cardamom adding a quick heat that flickers and fades. The heart settles into vetiver's earthy smoke and patchouli's dark sweetness, both given room to breathe rather than being buried in sugar. Labdanum and cedar anchor the finish, warm amber-resin territory with a woody edge to keep it from going too sweet. Dense and linear in character, built for cool weather where it sits close to skin.
