By the editors · 2 min readA heavy, golden jasmine that leans into its indolic side without apology. The sambac variety here is thick and almost syrupy, sweetened further by honey in the heart and given a resinous depth by benzoin below. Marigold adds a vegetal, slightly bitter edge that prevents the composition from becoming too cloying, though this remains firmly in sweet territory.
As it settles, the ylang-ylang emerges with its characteristic banana-like richness, amplifying the tropical warmth. The benzoin provides a soft, balsamic anchor that smooths the sharper aspects of the flowers into something rounder and more enveloping.
This is Jo Malone's attempt at a lusher, more full-bodied style than their typical citruses and colognes. Best suited to those who want their white florals opulent and their sweetness unambiguous—more evening garden than morning hedgerow.
