By the editors · 2 min readMadly Kenzo Oud Collection opens with saffron and pink pepper, the saffron carrying that leathery-medicinal warmth that sets the tone for what follows. The first impression is dry, slightly metallic, faintly resinous.
Oud sits in the heart, softened by heliotrope's almond-powder cushion and rose's plush counterpoint. The combination keeps the oud from going austere — there's a powdered, almost confectionery side that runs against the woody bite.
The base brings leather, vanilla, and patchouli over an amber bed, settling into a warm, animalic dry-down. Evening-leaning, dressed-up rather than casual, with enough projection to fill a room without dominating it.
