Versace Pour Femme Oud Oriental

Saffron, freesia, and rose open Oud Oriental with an unusual balance — saffron's warm metallic spice, freesia's clean white-floral brightness, and rose's familiar warmth together create an opening that's simultaneously spiced and airy.

By the editors · 2 min readSaffron, freesia, and rose open Oud Oriental with an unusual balance — saffron's warm metallic spice, freesia's clean white-floral brightness, and rose's familiar warmth together create an opening that's simultaneously spiced and airy. It settles quickly.

The heart is denser than expected: heliotrope contributes almond-powder sweetness, patchouli introduces an earthy quality typically reserved for base notes, and violet adds a cool counterpoint. The combination is layered for a midpoint accord, suggesting depth without heaviness.

Sandalwood, leather, oud, and vanilla form a classic oriental base with considerable staying power. The oud is present but softened by sandalwood; leather adds a subtle animalic texture; vanilla sweetens the close without tipping into gourmand territory. A polished, full-bodied oriental feminine that belongs in the evening.
