Versace
Versace was founded in Milan in 1978 by Gianni Versace, with the first fragrance — Gianni Versace pour Homme — following four years later. After Gianni's death in 1997 his sister Donatella took over creative direction; the perfume business has been licensed for most of the modern era, currently to EuroItalia under wider house ownership of Capri Holdings. The fragrance catalogue tracks the brand's broader aesthetic of Mediterranean maximalism: Eros (2012) and Bright Crystal (2006) remain the volume drivers, both built on saturated, sweet-aromatic structures aimed at department-store distribution. The pillar lines stay in regular flanker rotation while the more restrained Atelier Versace range targets niche channels.
DNA over time
Each column is an era. Each colored band shows that family’s share of accord weight across every perfume the house released in that window. Bigger band = the house leaned harder on that family.
