By the editors · 2 min readLavender and clary sage open cool and slightly bitter, their aromatic oils sheared by cardamom’s metallic green edge. Iris arrives quickly, its cool rooty starch pulling violet’s candied petal dust into a seamless grey-purple heart that feels both chalky and silken. The woods stage is slow: sandalwood’s creamy lactones soften iris’s mineral rigor while guaiac’s smoky pencil-shaving rasp keeps the structure angular. Labdanum, benzoin and vanilla fold into a supple amber panel that glows low rather than sweet, cedar sharpening the tail with clean sawdust lines. Projection stays polite, hovering just beyond the collar for six hours, ideal for office or cool spring days when you want quiet polish rather than statement.
