By the editors · 2 min readFleur de Sable — Flower of Sand — is the more mineral and arid of Les Liquides Imaginaires' 2019 Eaux de l'Est releases. Vetiver and elemi resin open alongside pink pepper and mandarin: the vetiver providing earthy-smoky depth from the first moment, elemi's resinous character adding something between frankincense and citrus. The heart is small but specific — eglantine's wild-rose quality, lighter and less formal than cultivated rose, alongside immortelle's distinctive dry-honey character. Black pepper, myrrh, and iris close the composition in a dry, resinous register with iris powder and myrrh's balsamic depth. A fragrance built around the sensation of dry heat and desert sand rather than conventional floral beauty. Spare and deliberate.
