Petitgrain, bergamot, and lavender lead with a sharp, aromatic freshness — tarragon and galbanum adding an herbal, faintly bitter edge that keeps the opening from reading as purely citrus.

By the editors · 2 min readPetitgrain, bergamot, and lavender lead with a sharp, aromatic freshness — tarragon and galbanum adding an herbal, faintly bitter edge that keeps the opening from reading as purely citrus. Clary sage and basil push the aromatic quality deeper into the heart alongside neroli, jasmine, and a restrained rose.
The base shifts toward something denser: oakmoss and vetiver bring earthy, mossy weight, leather adds a dry, slightly animalic layer, and sandalwood with amber provides warm resinous support. Tonka bean softens the whole without sweetening it. The composition reads as a classic aromatic fougère — green-aromatic on top, progressively warmer and earthier below, structured and confident in a way typical of late-eighties masculine perfumery.
