Cuir de Marrakech

The opening is a brief collision of plum and citrus, sweet-tart and gone quickly, giving way to the real structure: a dusty, aromatic leather built from cinnamon, rosemary, and a dark current of patchouli threaded through frankincense.

By the editors · 2 min readThe opening is a brief collision of plum and citrus, sweet-tart and gone quickly, giving way to the real structure: a dusty, aromatic leather built from cinnamon, rosemary, and a dark current of patchouli threaded through frankincense. There's an incense-shop quality here, not cathedral but souk—spiced, slightly medicinal, less polished than many modern leathers.

The base softens everything with tonka and vanilla, but never turns gourmand. The moss adds a fuzzy, slightly bitter edge that keeps the sweetness from overwhelming the leather theme. What emerges is a warm, lived-in leather jacket hung in a workshop where someone grinds spices and burns resin at the end of the day.

Best suited to cooler weather and anyone drawn to leathers that lean aromatic rather than animalic or smoky. Moderately assertive without being loud.
