Les Orientaux: Vanille Patchouli
A short composition built on a single idea — vanilla and patchouli, layered until they read as a unified gourmand-resin chord.
The scent fingerprint
Weighted by intensity across 13 accords.
Every perfume in Sillage is represented as a distribution across canonical accord slugs — a lingua franca for scent. Two fragrances with overlapping fingerprints are scent-twins, even if they share no literal note.

By the editors · 2 min readA short composition built on a single idea — vanilla and patchouli, layered until they read as a unified gourmand-resin chord. The opening is unusual in that the heart's own building blocks (sandalwood and patchouli) lead, smoothing the way to the central accord rather than competing with it.
Benzoin and vanilla form the heart — a sticky, balsamic sweetness with the faint smokiness benzoin always brings. The base reprises the vanilla against white musk, extending the sweetness without adding complexity.
Linear and warm. Cooler-weather casual, comfort wear, anyone who likes to layer something cosy under a coat.
