By the editors · 2 min readOud Dream opens with a sharp spiced accord — bergamot, cardamom, black pepper, and coriander arrive in a cluster that reads almost colognic, brightened by a thread of honey. The shift to the oud heart is where things change register; the oud here runs cleaner and more resinous than Hindi varieties, its smokiness subdued by patchouli. Rose ties the floral and resinous elements without dominating. The dry-down is leather and cedar with an amber haze — smooth and long-wearing, with moderate projection. Compared to some of Montale's denser oud compositions, this is relatively approachable: a good entry point for anyone curious about the house's oud work.
