By the editors · 2 min readZaad Arctic opens with grapefruit and bergamot alongside water notes and ice — a citrus-aquatic signature that reads as clean and cool without being generic. The heart distinguishes itself: black tea introduces a dry, tannic character, with geranium adding a rosy-green facet and cypress and elemi bringing a resinous, slightly camphoraceous depth that sets this apart from standard aquatic masculines.
The base anchors in oakmoss, amber, and cedar — a classically structured masculine drydown with chypre bones. The elemi-to-oakmoss progression is the most interesting movement; the Arctic branding somewhat undersells the earthy complexity that develops on skin. By perfumer Clément Gavarry.
