By the editors · 2 min readRoyal takes the 1 Million DNA and pulls it away from gold-leather-amber territory into something more aromatic and austere. Cardamom and bergamot open with spiced-citrus authority; violet leaf, sage, and lavender in the heart form an herbal-aromatic accord closer to the artisanal masculine tradition than 1 Million's typical bombastic register. Benzoin and patchouli in the base give warm resinous depth, cedar providing the dry structural element. One of the more interesting 1 Million flankers for people who find the original too loud — still substantial, but with more restraint and a different kind of elegance.
