Paco Rabanne
Paco Rabanne was founded in Paris in 1966 by Francisco Rabaneda Cuervo, the Spanish-born designer who built a reputation for using unconventional materials — metal, paper, plastic — in avant-garde couture. The house launched its fragrance division in 1969, and Calandre, a transparent metallic floral, established an identity that balanced futurism with wearability. Owned by Puig since 1968, the house rebranded as Rabanne in 2023 while retaining its fragrance heritage. 1 Million — released in 2008 — became one of the top-selling masculine fragrances worldwide, a candy-leather oriental that launched a franchise spanning multiple flankers. The perfume division, operated through Puig, continues to release commercially ambitious but well-crafted compositions.
