By the editors · 2 min readApple and rosemary crack open cool and metallic, their green snap sharpened by a dusting of pink pepper that prickles the nose for barely five minutes. A dark Bulgarian rose blooms quickly, its petals bruised by clove so the flower smells slightly stewed rather than fresh, while the first curls of cypriol smoke rise underneath. The base lands fast: oud laid over vetiver creates a dry, splintered-wood character, patchouli adds cocoa-brown earth, and labdanum resin pulls the accord into sticky amber tar that clings to skin. After an hour the rose recedes, leaving a charred, leathery oud-vetiver spine salted by faint saccharine apple residue. Projection stays within arm’s length for six hours, then hugs fabric; cool fall evenings and smart-casual offices fit its bittersweet timber profile.
