By the editors · 2 min readEssence de Patchouli is what the name promises — patchouli foregrounded and held there, treated as a subject rather than a base material. The opening carries a faint clove and rose top, but within minutes the patchouli takes over: earthy, slightly camphorous, with the chocolate-cocoa undertone that aged patchouli oil develops.
The middle thickens with iris powder and a balsamic rose, and guaiac and sandalwood smooth the dry-down without diluting the central note. Vanilla and amber round the trail. Sillage is strong; longevity easily covers a full day. Cool-weather wear, evening or formal, on coats and scarves more than skin.
