By the editors · 2 min readThe original Polo Blue launched in 2002 as a cool aquatic suited to the beach. The EDP flanker dresses that framework in considerably heavier fabric. Cardamom and bergamot open with warm spice rather than the expected freshness, the marine quality pushed to the general background rather than the opening. Orris and clary sage in the heart are where the EDP distinguishes itself — the orris adding a cool, chalky sophistication, clary sage contributing an aromatic warmth. Vetiver, patchouli, and suede in the base keep it grounded and dry. More eveningwear than beachwear — the same name for a substantially different character.
